I like exploring history and found these postcards on ebay give an interesting view of our town!

This is for the 2nd grade :-)

I had hoped to print these out and post them in the hallway but my art room printer needs color laser cartridges. The flowers weren't too pretty when I tried anyway, so this was a good compromise!

A good time was had trying to roll the spirals of clay, but painting them was just as much fun!

The West Hartford Children's Museum came to Waddell to present a program called Polymer Power in Ms. Bourbeau's Kindergarten classroom. Is it a solid or a liquid? And what are the strange chains called polymers? The students were able to learn the answers to these questions through experimentation using the slime they made.

The UCONN athletes that visit our school and encourage the students to set goals for their future invited us to attend a game! Waddell School students so so many wonderful things! Our class level choirs, band and orchestra entertained an enthusiastic audience of family and Waddell students and staff!

This is a fun day. Author and illustrator talks are scheduled all day, both days. Many kids attend these as well as adults, and they are usually really good!

We hadn't gotten our fresh clay for the year but I wanted to do something this fall. These flat leaf plates fit worked well with the stiff clay. When the students painted them, the fired plates were first tinted by plunging them in dilute acrylic paint which could be blended by sequential dipping. The gold was intended as detail. :-) They finished look reminds me of Victorian china!
